Standing on a piece of historical land with the Nara Saruzawa pond close by, the inn belongs to the Meiji era that lasted from 1868 to 1919, pointing to an existence of at least a hundred years. As with each prefecture, Nara is endowed with generous natural resources that are unique to its location. Over the centuries, the locals devised construction methods best suited for the natural materials sourced from the surroundings.
