2019 China Global Wood Trade Conference to be in September

The 9th China Global Wood Trade Conference (GWT China), organised by China Timber & Wood Products Distribution Association (CTWPDA) and co-organised by FEA-WOOD MARKETS, will be held in Chongqing on 7 and 8 September 2019. This will be the fifth joint conference that both groups have been involved organizing a conference in China.

Expected to set record attendance levels, the event will also seek to address many critical market, economic and supply trends.

GWT China is an annual event where global wood traders meet in China. Established to facilitate and promote information exchange and business cooperation for global wood trade community in 2011, GWT China takes place in one of China’s major port or consuming cities each year.

Every year, GWT China attracts more than 350 participants, including wood suppliers, importers, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers as well as trade associations, industry experts, government officials and representatives of international organisations from more than 20 countries.

As the biggest economic centre upside of Yangtze River, Chongqing is a city of strategic importance in the southwest industry and commerce, the centre of national important high-tech and intelligent production, and is also an important strategic city superimposed on the Yangtze River economic zone, the Belt and Road, Chengdu and Chongqing economic circle. Chongqing is backed by a large market with a population of 30 million people and is exposed to southwest China, as well as southeast and central Asia. Chongqing has remarkable advantages of location and enormous potential market, and is making all efforts to build a multi-industry park catering to several industries including the wood, storage and manufacturing trade.

In 2019, the 9th GWT China aims to provide a platform to figure out future opportunities and challenges worldwide, meanwhile offering an insight into wood processing and trade of Chongqing. Additionally, the Conference works as a bridge between inland wood enterprises and global wood suppliers and manufacturers to push forward better communication within the industry and the sustainable development of wood trade, both at home and abroad.
