Axel Steiger appointed new CFO of WEINIG AG

At its last meeting, WEINIG’s Supervisory Board appointed Axel Steiger as its new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding former CFO Gerald Schmidt.

Working alongside Chief Executive Officer Gregor Baumbusch and Chief Technology Officer Dr Mario Kordt, Steiger is responsible for the finance and accounting division. He took office on 1 July 2020.

After undergoing training as a bank clerk and graduating in Busi-ness Administration, Steiger worked in various international corporations, most recently as CFO of a global manufacturer of rigid films.

“With Axel Steiger we have been able to win an excellent, internationally experienced financial expert. We are convinced that with the newly completed Management Board, we are very well positioned to successfully continue the future development of the WEINIG Group,” emphasizes Chairman of the Supervisory Board Dr. Thomas Bach.
