Greenply Industries, Greenpanel Industries and Century Plyboards have filed application to commerce ministry's probing arm DGTR to start anti-dumping investigation on imports of "plain medium density fibre board of thickness less than 6 mm" imported from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, reported India’s Economic Times.
India’s authorities have initiated a probe to investigate an alleged dumping of fibre boards from these four countries, following complaint by domestic manufacturers.
Both the DGTR and the finance ministry recommend the duty.
Investigation will look into the period between January and December 2019. It would also look into the data from April 2016 to April 2019.
The product under consideration is a composite wood product made out of wood waste fibres, widely used for partitions, modular furniture and cabinets.
