Japan plywood imports up 7% in October
Japan's October year-on-year plywood imports were up 7%, the third consequetive rise in imports from Malaysia and Indonesia, according to the ITTO.
Japan’s three major plywood suppliers are China, Malaysia and Indonesia. Imports from China were down 26% while shipments from Malaysia rose 22%. Japan’s plywood imports from Indonesia have been erratic since the mid year but have increased since August.
